Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology is a branch of the cardiology specialty which deals with disturbances of the heart rhythm (arrhythmias). Arrhythmias may be without any symptoms, but may present at a later time with consequences of e.g. blood clotting; they may be symptomatic and at times severe enough to prove fatal. Common symptoms produced by arrhythmias include: palpitations (abnormal awareness of the heart beat), lower blood pressure, dizziness, fainting, shortness of breath and apprehension.

The clinical cardiac electrophysiology department offers the following services:

1. Ambulatory ECG monitoring (holter monitoring), Head-up tilt table testing, Signal average ECG.
2. Clinics for arrhythmias, pacing (device programming and interrogation) and syncope.
3. Electrophysiological studies and radiofrequency ablation (EPS + RFA).
4. Cryoablation (Atrial Fibrillation)
5. Ablation with 3D Mapping (All Complex Arrhythmias including Pediatrics)
6. Device implantation (Pacemakers, ICD, CRT, HIS - bundlepacing ).
7. Elective cardioversion.
